Lisätietoa: | The River Teno (Tana in Norwegian, Deatnu in Sami) is a large (catchment area 16 386 km2 ) border river between northernmost Finland and Norway (70°N) where Atlantic salmon fisheries are managed by bilateral agreements between the countries. Reference points in form of spawning targets have been estimated (Falkegård et al. 2014) for most of the numerous, genetically distinct sub-populations (Vähä et al. 2017) in this system. Attainment of the targets have been assessed by various long-term monitoring programs, including fish counts by video cameras, snorkeling, sonar, and estimates of catch, its age structure, and exploitation rates for the entire system, the main stem, and separately for multiple tributary populations (Anon. 2020). In addition to the specific assessment of spawning target attainment for individual populations, other monitoring activities include estimates of juvenile salmon abundances through long-term electrofishing surveys |
